Billy Corgan Isn’t A Fan Of Radiohead

In the "Somebody's Mad" of the day, Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan had some choice words for the band Radiohead. In an interview with Antiquiet, he expressed his disappointment with not being included on a recent list of the 100 Greatest Guitar Players by Rolling Stone in the most butthurt way imaginable.
"I can't think of any people outside of Weird Al Yankovic who have both embraced and pissed on rock more than I have. Obviously there's a level of reverence, but there's also a level of intelligence to even know what to piss on." He then went on to say, "Because I'm not pissing on Rainbow. I'm not pissing on Deep Purple. But I'll piss on f***ing Radiohead, because of all this pomposity. This value system that says Jonny Greenwood is more valuable than Ritchie Blackmore. Not in the world I grew up in."
Ugh. Look, Smashing Pumpkins are, um were, a good band but they and Deep Purple aren't the only bands to ever have good riffs. Although I am not the biggest Radiohead fan, I can say that Johnny Greenwood is one of the most talented musicians in music today, not just 1996. I think Corgan is officially in his "Get Off My Lawn" stage. It happens to (SOME) of the best of rockers when they hit their 40s. The Pumpkins' latest album 'Oceania' is currently streaming on iTunes.
[Editor's Note: Brittani has made DivaJulia honk-choke-snort-belly laugh with this one..."Most butthurt way imaginable" and "Get Off My Lawn" stage. Bent in half laughing...Stupid Billy Corgan.]
