After months of speculation about who would replace former judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger, and briefly Cheryl Cole, it is now confirmed that Britney Spears will be joining the judges panel for season two of the singing competition show. Along with Britney, the show is adding singer Demi Lovato, but no word yet on who will be hosting as last year's host Steve Jones was let go as well.
The official announcement was made during Fox's 2012 Upfronts where Spears and Lovato appeared for the first time with show creator Simon Cowell and returning judge L.A. Reid. Britney even tweeted a pic of her and the gang backstage at the event. "It's going to be so much fun and so different from anything I've ever done. I'm ready to find the true star," Spears said during the presentation. When asked if she was going to bring younger viewers to the show, Lovato said she was "stoked" to be representing her generation.
Cowell had nothing but kind words for his two new judges, calling Spears "talented and fascinating," and adding that Lovato is "confident and enthusiastic."
I'm sure Britney is enthusiastic about her reported $15 million paycheck. Get that money, Dollface!
