Glee recap, ‘Prom-asaurus’

I wasn't expecting anything from Glee's big senior prom episode, but you think they would have given the kids something better than this mess. With the town idiot as class president, the theme for prom is dinosaurs, and all hair gel is banned. It's shaping up to be the worst prom ever at McKinley.
Brittany is working hard on the prom, and is also in the running for Prom King, along with Finn and some hockey player. Quinn, Santana and some random girl are the nominees for Prom Queen. I guess I appreciate seeing other students at McKinley that aren't in that one group, and are popular enough to be voted on for these things. Rachel wasn't expecting to be nominated, but was miffed that Finn and Quinn were running together. She proposes and anti-prom party at a hotel room, and then Santana calls her out for yet again being selfish, just because she wasn't getting her way. It was pretty ridiculous for her to expect everyone else to not enjoy their prom just because she was going to skip it, but initially Kurt, Blaine, Puck and Becky happily oblige.
Becky is also pissed that she wasn't added to list of Prom Queen nominees, smashing Sue's prized xylophone and resorting to her inner voice, read fabulously by Helen Mirren again, to let out her anger.
Quinn, being the Betty Draper that she is, has been making gradual progress working with Joe at physical therapy. Even though she can stand on her own, she keeps him from telling everyone about her achievements to gain sympathy votes. Finn finds out and confronts her, but instead of being a big tattle tell, he just helps her keep up the lie so she can have her moment. He eventually stops being dumb and realizes that he should be with his future wife at the prom instead of her, so he rushes off to bring Rachel to the prom. Kurt and Blaine also decide to attend, despite his curly mane not being all gelled up. In a twist, while Finn is rightfully (?) crowned king, Rachel is voted in as queen, with last year's winner Kurt giving her the tiara. Quinn changed the votes when she and Santana were counting them, perhaps realizing that giving Rachel Berry another moment she doesn't really deserve is more important than a fake tiara.

So Quinn broke free from her wheelchair and stood while singing as Rachel and Finn danced as queen and king of the Prom. She thanked Joe, and Finn, but what about Artie? It was only three episodes ago that he was trying to get her to realize that she might not walk again, before Dreadlock Jesus came along. But oh right, she's determined, and smart and she's going to Yale! Wheelchairs aren't allowed at Ivy League schools I guess. Becky's tantrums and bonding with Puck over spiking the punch were the highlights of this episode. Let's have Puck play strip poker again before the finale.
"Big Girls Don't Cry" sung by Rachel with Kurt and Blaine. Rachel sings this Fergie song while sulking about her failed NYADA auditions and her boyfriend running for prom king and queen with Quinn. It's enough to make a girl want to sing a song by a Black Eyed Peas member with her two gay best friends.
"Dinosaur" sung by Brittany with the Cheerios. I had never heard this Ke$ha song before, and I really wish I hadn't. Brittany's theme for prom made no sense, and neither did this number.

"I Love You Like A Love Song" sung by Santana with Brittany and Tina. The prom songs this year weren't as good as they were for last season's episode, but I can say Naya/Santana sang this better than Selena Gomez has recently.
"What Makes You Beautiful" sung by Artie, Joe, Sam, Mike and Rory. This is Glee cashing in on another popular song, but hey they let the Irish kid do something. These group of guys are at least better looking than One Direction, no?
"Take My Breath Away" sung by Quinn and Santana. These two girls most likely to have won the title of queen of the prom sang this, which kind of makes me wish Quinn hadn't pity patted Rachel on the back.
