Gotye Didn’t Like Glee’s Cover Of His Song Either

I've said it before, but Gotye's huge hit "Somebody That I Used To Know" is this year's "Rolling In The Deep." Which of course meant that Glee had to rush to cover it while it was still hot. The song appeared in the episode "Big Brother" and was sung by Darren Criss and guest star Matt Bomer. While Gleeks might have loved it, the Australian singer wasn't so impressed.
"They did such a faithful arrangement of the instrumentals but the vocals were that pop Glee-style, ultra dry, sounded pretty tuned and the rock has no real sense, like it's playing to you from a cardboard box,'' he said.
Not to mention the fact that the song is about a breakup, not two douchey brothers fighting. The show's use of the song gave it a boost in sales, and fans did like the cover. Maybe it wasn't all that bad, but this is Glee we're talking about here.
