A YouTube video is floating around that is pretty interesting. We have all noticed the similarities of Gaga's Alejandro video and well, most of Madonna's videos all rolled into one. I have to admit that I'm more irritated with Christina Aguilera copying paying homage to Madge than I am with Gaga. Perhaps it's because Christina has the VOICE and really doesn't need to rely on being so sexual and controversial--AND she didn't start out in a "performance artist" manner. It just doesn't seem natural for Christina--her Not Myself Tonight video simply felt calculated, and not in a good way.

And you know what else? I don't really think Alejandro was all that awesome of a video (aside from the sacred heart image, which I loved). I wish Gaga and director Steven Klein had worked on Teeth instead. On the screen inside my own brain, I am visualizing a very sinister Deep South storyline...a big, dusty tent church revival. A crazy choir. Money being thrown into the collection baskets. Faith healing. I don't know, I really think that song has a lot more to offer visually. AND I want Trent Reznor to produce a remix. Like NOW.
Bottom line, I'm disappointed in the Alejandro video; Bad Romance and Telephone were a lot to live up to--I think Lady Gaga really needs to show us her Teeth.
Oh, and of course. I'm seeing Lady Gaga in August. Are you?

I think Alejandro is the last single she’s going to be releasing for now. Everyone kept saying Christina was ripping off Gaga w/ Not Myself Tonight, even though it was obviously a mashup of Madonna’s Human Nature and Express Yourself. I also saw a little bit of Beyonce’s Green Light.
Madonna isn’t really the originator, but every is biting her style these days.
