Here are a couple of nuggets from Minka's interview with Esquire:
"Done with the twenties. I'm confident — confident in my skin, and I'm cool with my flaws and all that stuff. It just feels nice to be at peace with yourself. I think my thirtieth birthday gave me permission to have all that. The twenties were a pain in the ass — figuring it all out. What am I doing? Where do I go?"
On the Particulars of Being the Sexiest Woman Alive
"I've never done a sexy photo shoot before. I've never really honestly tapped into that side. It was really liberating. It was exciting. I would look at the pictures, like, that's me?"
On Her Image
"Hopefully people will see that I'm not just a 17-year-old cheerleader from Friday Night Lights."
"No matter what you're doing, live it. Make an experience. Have fun. Relate to someone. Take them in. Learn. Right? Or else you're wasting your time. And time is precious. I didn't go to theater school. I didn't go to Julliard. But I've lived a lot. I've seen a lot. I feel like that makes up for a little bit. I've lived a lot at my young age."
Hmmm. I happen to like my women a little more dangerous and a lot less vapid. This "article" should have just been a Victoria's Secret catalog and gotten it over with, in my loud-mouthed opinion. Esquire is probably my favorite magazine; I don't buy chick mags. I know how to put on eyeliner and marry the "Perfect Man", thankyouverymuch. Esquire usually nails it with their "Sexiest Woman Alive" issue; I'm disappointed this year.
Oh, and I swear to God if I get comments about my being a "jealous old bitch", I'm gonna blast you. I'm the first to say when a woman is smart, gorgeous and sexy--so don't even.
