Olympic Hotties: Swimmers Edition

The 2012 London Olympics are well underway with the swimming events kicking off early and earning top medals for the US and China. Most of the focus seems to be on this supposed rivalry between Ryan Lochte and Michael Phelps, but why let that distract us from from all of the hard bodies Phelps-ing through the water. Yes, Phelps-ing, let it happen okay?

Ryan Lochte

We can forgive the stupid diamond grills he insists on wearing, because well, look at him. Some think he dropped the ball during the Freestyle Relay, but he is sure to take home more medals, and probably a couple of fans.

Cullen Jones

Cullen was born in the Bronx but attended North Carolina State University and devotes his time to teaching young African American kids how to swim with USA Swimming Foundations' 'Make A Splash' Initiative. Also, look at the smile.

Nathan Adrian

Cutie Nathan doesn't get as much attention as his team mates, but is a huge part of why they are so successful. The 23-year old  Bremerton, Washington [DivaJulia says, HOLLA!!] native attended UC Berkeley and is the son of a Chinese nurse and an engineer.

Missy Franklin

Missy's only 17 but is steadily crushing her competition, winning gold for the Women's 100 Backstroke, and dedicating her win to the victims of  the movie theater shooting in Aurora, Colorado. Her victory was spoiled before it aired though, thanks to NBC.

Missy and her team mates Jessica Hardy, Lia Neal and Allison Schmitt won Bronze for their Freestyle Relay.

China's Sun Yang pulled an upset, winning the Men's 400m Freestyle and made a tearful speech after he won his first Olympic medal. "Today if I cry it’s really because I worked hard for one year, or even more. " How can you not love this lanky, baby-faced star.

Camille Lacourt from France is sending hearts racing in and out of the pool.  He came in fourth during the 100m backstroke, but does that matter when you look like this?

Australian James Magnussen is making his Olympics debut. Even though he is the world 100m Freestyle champion, him and his team finished fourth in the race. There will be other races, and we can comfort him in the meantime.

24 year old Pedro Oliveira from Portugal siezed the gold in the 200m Butterfly. His body also looks like that.

I'd like thank our friend @Maraudered for helping me out with this list!!

  1. I often think the swimmers are rather odd-looking but this is a good list!
