Prince surprises the ladies of “The View”

The Purple One sauntered out onto the set of "The View" Thursday morning, surprising the hosts and the audience combined. The audience's screams were so loud that the sound went out for a moment. "These are strange hours for a rock star," he said after taking a seat next to Sherri Shepard, who looked like she was about to faint. Did he not look über fabulous?!

Prince Rogers Nelson was there to promote his upcoming Welcome 2 America shows and the lucky hostesses each were handed free tickets. I am seriously jealous.

During the "surprise" (Whoopi already knew and helped facilitate) visit by Prince, Barbara told the legend of her interview with Justin Bieber. Totally not random chance for Barbara to promote her 10 Most Fascinating People Special wherein The Biebs was amongst the not actually fascinating list.

"He [Bieber]said, 'What I hope, is that I can be like Prince,'" she says. "You are his idea of the consummate performer."

Prince appeared both flattered (?) and surprised, "The key to longevity is to learn every aspect of music that you can, and I hope that he does pick up an instrument and get a good teacher," he responded to Barbara's interjection. (It always has to be about HER, you know.)

I hope you noticed how quickly and awkwardly Prince bolted from the stage immediately upon hearing Sherri Shepard gush, "I've wanted to make love to you for my whole life."

Congratulations, Sherri. You might have been the only woman Prince has ever turned down.
