‘Revolution’ Recap By David E. – A Dude’s Eye View

Captain Tom Origin Story

The show opens with Captain Tom beating the crap out of Danny in an old style knuckle fist fight. The show flashes back to Captain Tom before the blackout getting fired from his job. While locked away in his cell Captain Tom tries to tell Danny about his life before the blackout but Danny tells him to shove it. Back before the blackout Captain Tom was Captain Wussy. But when the blackout hit and his asshole of a next door neighbor broke in and tried to shame him by assaulting him in front of his son Captain Tom emerged...Serious "fuck yeah!" moment.

Espionage in Noblesville

Miles, Charlie, Aaron, and Nora with prisoner Nate in tow pay their last respects to Maggie's newly made grave and while en route to the republic camp discover that the Rebels have repaired an old train and station, Miles is not happy. Captain Tom tells a station underling that the train is scheduled to leave for Philadelphia (presumably Republic HQ) the next morning so have it ready to go by then. In the little town that's housing the train station. The four hide out and discuss their options. They figure that Danny is in town but will be put on the train and lost to them if they don't find him and free him first. Miles, Charlie and Nora search in town for Danny while Aaron keeps watch over Nate. In town Nora finds Hutch, a fellow revolutionary who runs a book printing shop. Nora recruits Hutch to help her blow up the train.

Hutch

Charlie gets noticed by Captain Tom but makes a good save pretending to be spying on her boyfriend. She shakes the hand of the man torturing her brother. Captain Tom is suspicious but walks away. Charlie tails him but Captain Tom already knows and almost slits her throat when Miles steps in but before shit gets cray the two start talking about Tom's wife who Tom hasn't seen in a year..Boooooo!

Charlie and Tom

Republic guards show up and Miles leaves denying us all of what would have been a kick ass fight scene. Back at the hideout Aaron argues with Nora about blowing up the train with Danny on it. Charlie goes to Nate for any info on where Danny would be on the train but when Nate refuses Miles goes to kill him but Nate escapes. Nora and Hutch proceed with their plans and place a bomb disguised as a log of wood on the train. With Miles showing up for Danny Captain Tom decides to leave the same day instead of the next day.

Hasty Train of Thought

Nora sees Danny on the train and has a change of heart but when she moves to stop the train Hutch stabs her in the gut! Nooooooo! Not Hot Nora! Miles, Aaron and Charlie arrive in time for Nora to tell them what and where the bomb is on the train. Miles and Nora mount horses and give chase while Aaron tends to Nora (save her Aaron please!). Charlie finds Danny on the train while Miles goes for the bomb. Charlie and Danny fight Tom while Miles fights the conductor. Miles finds the bomb and throws it off the train (like Momma) but Charlie and Danny are ambushed by Nate and in an unexplained act of conscience throws Charlie off the train before Captain Tom can shoot her. Miles sees that Charlie is off the train then sees Nate and begrudgingly jumps of the train failing to secure Danny.

Rachael and Sebastian

Back at republic HQ Monroe tells Rachael that her son is on his way and when he gets there she better spill her guts about what her husband was working on. Later Monroe discusses battle strategies with one of his aids who seems distraught over escalating violence between the Monroe republic and its neighboring territories. Monroe's issues with the rebels is making their enemies bolder but Monroe continues to bank on being able to get the power back on for himself and then routing anyone who doesn't bend the knee to him.

The episode ends with Miles, Charlie, Nora (yay!) and Aaron breaking camp in the forest resolving to go to Philadelphia and retrieve Danny and kill Monroe. In Philadelphia Captain Tom and his wife reunite and shocker we find out that Nate is Captain Tom's son. Rachel sees Danny and Monroe promises her that if she spills her guts about what Ben was working on he won't be harmed. Rachel draws a picture of the pendant Aaron currently holds and tells Monroe that they are key to turning the power back on and that there are twelve of them.
