On her relationship with Jason Trawick:
Jason Trawick tells ELLE Britney made the first move in their relationship: "It was kind of one of those things where she moved, like, turned around, so we were face-to-face, and then-" Britney’s response? "Okay, that’s enough information, sweetie. It was sweet, just say that."
On her laid-back style:
"I love my jeans and my sweats-I’m really just a tomboy at heart. So it’s really hard for me to be like Kim Kardashian and be makeup-and hair-ready every time I go out of my house. I’m not a believer in that, you know? On the other hand, when you do wear those sweats, you’re like, Oh God, I should step it up a notch."
On dealing with paparazzi scrutiny:
"I guess I’ve been under the microscope so long that I don’t even pay attention to the nonsense anymore. I gave up getting upset about things people make up about me a long time ago."

Katie Holmes Talks Her ‘New Phase’ In Elle Magazine
Six weeks ago Katie Holmes did an interview with Elle magazine which foreshadowed her headline making break up with Tom Cruise. Little did the mag, or even Tom, know that Katie was planning to take charge of her life and make a run for it.
Holmes tells Elle that she is enjoying her 30s, "I definitely feel much more comfortable in my own skin. I feel sexier. I think in my twenties – it’s like you’re trying too hard to figure everything out…I’m starting to come into my own. It’s like a new phase." It's now being reported that Katie wanted to get out of Tom's shadow and revive her career, another thing hinted at in the interview. "He has been Tom Cruise for 30 years," she says. "I know who I am and where I am and where I want to go, so I want to focus on that." She is now focused on raising the couple's daughter Suri and her clothing line Holmes & Yang which she launched with friend Jeanne Yang.
So what we know is that Katie "lied" to Tom right up until she filed for divorce. She bought her own apartment in NYC under the guise of needing more privacy. Decided not to go to Iceland with Tom where he is filming a new movie. Cut herself off from their mutual friends and got a new phone number. Cold, but calculated and commendable.

Gwen Stefani Covers Elle Magazine – Music Issue

No Doubt's Gwen Stefani is the cover girl for the May issue of Elle magazine. In the magazine, she discusses performing while pregnant, "It was horrible," and life with her husband, Gavin Rossdale.
On writing hits: “I do! Why wouldn’t you want that many people listening to the songs that you wrote? There’s no way to go back after you have had it. So the intentions of even the solo records were always about trying to write those guilty-pleasure albums that just get in your head and you can’t get out. I’m not cool, I’m not into the B-sides. Prince, who is one of my idols, gave me some advice when I worked with him: “Have you ever just tried writing a hit? Like, don’t just try writing a song, try and write a hit song.” I remember him saying that and me thinking, Yeah, you’re right. Why would you write anything else?”
On her marriage to Gavin Rossdale: “The first time we ever kissed was right around Valentine’s Day—we were in New Orleans on tour. So, yeah, I always think about that because it’s unbelievable that we’ve been able to stay together. I feel so proud of us—it’s one of my biggest achievements.”
And what does she think of people saying Lady Gaga and Katy Perry copy her? “Really? I don’t see myself in those girls. I usually put pants on. I see these girls as more going for the sex-symbol thing.”
The Women In Music issue also features Robyn, Florence Welch, Adele, Nicki Minaj, Willow Smith and Jennifer Hudson.
