Adele Confirmed For ‘Skyfall’ Theme Song

It was only a rumor a couple of months ago, but the folks over at Showbiz411 confirmed that Adele will be singing the theme for the upcoming James Bond movie 'Skyfall.' The song will most likely be called "Skyfall" and was also probably written by the soon to-be-mom.

The 8-time Grammy winner will be joining the ranks of Tina Turner, Duran Duran, Shirley Bassey and many others who have created memorable Bond themes. I do hope it's better than "Another Way To Die" from 'Quantum of Solace.' Although I love both Alicia Keys and Jack White separately, that collaboration wasn't as good as it should have been. It was reported that Amy Winehouse was originally asked to sing the theme for QoS, but at the time she wasn't healthy, and Mark Ronson had a falling out with her over the situation. (Did you remember that TODAY Amy would have been 29 years old?)
The 23rd Bond film will premiere in the UK on October 26th, and we'll get to see it here in the States on November 9th.
So, what is your favorite Bond theme? How well do you think Adele's will do? I'm partial to "You Only Live Twice" performed by Nancy Sinatra.
[Editor's Note: DivaJulia's favorite is a newer Bond theme--"You Know My Name" by Chris Cornell
from Casino Royale, Daniel Craig's first appearance as Bond. James Bond.]

Adele Covers British Vogue; Possibly Pegged to Sing New ‘James Bond’ Theme

Bloody GORGEOUS - Adele Covers Vogue UK

Singer Adele graces the cover of the October issue of British Vogue. In an interview with Christa D'Souza, she jokes that she is "the face of full-fat Coke" and discusses fashion, her the future of her career and diet fads. She said:
"I've seen people where it rules their lives, who want to be thinner or have bigger boobs and how it wears them down. And I don't want that in my life. I have insecurities, of course, but I don't hang out with anyone who points them out to me."
Timeless talent, elegance and beauty--combined with a salty vocabulary.
Vogue UK Editor Alexandra Shulman stated,
"Our cover girl, Adele, has won over the world with her heartbreaking voice and her ability to seem as if she very much herself…(her) very normality, her down-to-earth determination not to compromise herself, has become as much a part of her USP (unique selling point) as, for example, Madonna’s constant, deliberate reinvention."
During her appearance over the weekend on Jonathan Ross' talk show, Adele hinted that she may very well be recording the theme for the next James Bond movie. When asked by Ross when she was going to start recording her next album, Adele let the news slip out.

OOPS! Photo: ITV
'Well, this is actually a theme. Wow, that's really giving something away.' The host replied: 'A theme?' before humming the signature James Bond music. A blushing Adele replied with, 'It's a concept. One song'.
I guess we'll have to wait for some official news, but I think she is a fantastic candidate for the next Bond theme. I expect a Tina Turner or Shirley Bassey-like theme. Anything is better than that forgettable hack-job Jack White and Alicia Keys did for the last 007 film.
