Oh, Happy Monday indeed for those of y'all who love The Gosling. We have an itty-bitty clip from his new film called, "Only God Forgives'. Sounds ominous and dark just by the title alone.
In, Drive, Nicolas Winding Refn turned Ryan Gosling into a nameless, mythic hero, willing to break laws to procure justice in the outskirts of Los Angeles. Their second film together, it seems, sends that roaming vigilante to the dirty underground of Bangkok.
The first preview of Only God Forgives has been released (or, leaked) online, and though it's just a brief 20 seconds, the footage displays the same sort of gritty, shadow-cloaked drama that made the actor and director's first collaboration such a critical hit. Set in the underground kickboxing world of Thailand, Gosling plays a gym owner who has to take out his brother's murderer -- or perish himself. The film co-stars Kristin Scott Thomas, as Gosling's mother.
I was just wondering whatever happened to Kristin Scott Thomas. Oh, and don't forget (like you would?) that RyRy's film, Gangster Squad which opens this Friday, January 11.

Ryan Gosling is known for being a good actor with an amazing body, musician with his band Dead Man's Bones (check them out!) and a lover of dogs, but he might also have another career in fighting crime. The folks over at The New York Observer picked up on some tweets by British writer Laura Penny who detailed how star saved her from being hit by a cab in NYC.
Because there were some people that didn't believe that Gosling went out of his way to help this woman, she pointed out that a woman who witnessed this go down confirmed that that she had indeed been saved by The Godling. I think that's what should all call him from now on. Ryan seems like a genuinely good guy--he actually stopped a fight between two guys arguing over a painting. Who else does that?!
If the Avengers movie gets a sequel, and it very well might, they should add him as another member. He doesn't have to play a character, he could just play himself. He already has the mind and body of a superhero.

Wow. Say it with me: FANTASTIC ENSEMBLE CAST! George Clooney stars in, directed and wrote the screenplay in the new political thriller, The Ides of March, which has a tentative release date of October 7, 2011.
Along with George, the cast includes Ryan Gosling, Marisa Tomei, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Evan Rachel Wood, Paul Giamatti, and Jeffrey Wright (who is totally underrated, if you ask me. Hi, "Basquiat", anyone?)
We've got the trailer for you; and it looks really great.
Raise your hand if you think this film has Academy Awards written all over it. Yeah...my hand is raised, too.
