Did The Civil Wars Just Break Up?

Joy Williams and John Paul White

Blink. Blink.  I just read an ominous and disturbing post byThe Civil Wars on Facebook.  I'll post it and see what you guys think:

via The Civil Wars Facebook Page:

We sincerely apologize for the canceling of all of our tour dates. It is something we deeply regret. However, due to internal discord and irreconcilable differences of ambition we are unable to continue as a touring entity at this time. We thank each and every one of you for your amazing love & support. Our sincere hope is to have new music for you in 2013.

- Joy Williams & John Paul White.

PS - We understand that there are many of you stuck with service charges and travel reservations due to our abrupt cancellations. Please email us at info@thecivilwars.com if there are costs incurred that you would like to be reimbursed for, include a scan or attachment to your receipt(s) of the costs, and we will do our best to reimburse you for non-refundable charges.

It's nearly a year to the day that we saw this incredible duo at The Neptune Theater in Seattle.  This is rather shocking, actually.  Joy Williams did recently have a baby boy, but had also been posting videos of everyone in the recording studio with legendary producer Rick Rubin at Shangri La Studios in Malibu.

Wow.  Just wow.  And I'm NOT cool with this. At all.

Baby News Roundup! Matthew McConaughey, Kings of Leon, The Civil Wars And More!

Camilla and Matthew

You probably caught DILF Matthew McConaughey in box office hit 'Magic Mike' last weekend, and now he has another thing to celebrate. Matthew tweeted the big news that him and new wife Camila Alves are expecting their third child. The couple, who have been together for six years, married in June. They have two other children, Levi, who'll be 4 this week, and Vida, 2 1/2.

Claire and Hugh

Expecting her first child is 'Homeland' star Claire Danes, her rep confirmed to PEOPLE. Danes, 33, married actor Hugh Dancy, 37, in 2009 after they met on the set of the movie 'Evening' in 2007. A spokesperson for 'Homeland''s production company Fox 21 says that Danes' pregnancy is likely to not affect the show. I'm sure President Obama, who is a huge fan of the show, will be excited to hear that.

Jennifer Nettles

Just seven months after her wedding, Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles is happy to report she is pregnant with her first child. The singer and 'Duets' mentor married husband Justin Miller in Nashville back in November of last year. "They are thrilled beyond belief!," Sugarland’s manager, Gail Gellman, tells PEOPLE.

John Paul and Joy from The Civil Wars (..the kids is not John Paul's)

Another Country/Americana/Folk star starting her family is one-half of The Civil Wars, Joy Williams. She gave birth to her son Miles Alexander on June 30 in Nashville. "Now I really know what love at first sight means after meeting my son, Miles Alexander," she wrote on Twitter.  "Born yesterday, all happy and healthy. xo" Williams announced her pregnancy earlier this year when she and band-mate John Paul White picked up their first Grammys at the awards show in February.

Kings of Leon with their wives

The Followill clan is growing by the minute. Lead singer of Kings of Leon Caleb welcomed daughter Dixie Pearl with wife, model Lily Aldridge, on June 21. Little Dixie came weighed in at 7 lbs., 11 oz. and measuring 22 inches long. The couple are said to be "happy, healthy and enjoying their new addition."

The elder Followill, drummer Nathan is expecting with wife, singer Jessie Baylin. "I’m beyond excited/anxious. Life is beautiful," he tweeted. Their brother Jared got engaged in May to Martha Patterson so we can expect more baby news from them in the future .

WOW.  That's a LOT of babies.

The Civil Wars Took Home Two Grammy Awards BTW!

The Civil Wars!!

With all the sad news about Whitney Houston's passing looming over The Grammy Awards, I almost forgot to give a huge shout out and congratulations to Dipped in Cream's darlings, The Civil Wars for winning Best Folk album and Best Country Duo/Group performance--beating out the likes of Eddie Vedder and Kenny Chesney.

Joy Williams and John Paul White, who make up The Civil Wars are a duo made in heaven.  Normally, I don't care for Jay Leno, but if I hadn't accidentally turned on The Tonight Show in early 2011, I never would have found these two beautiful souls.  It seems as though they are on Leno every few months.

Since that time, my BFF Patrick, SilverFox and I were lucky enough to see The Civil Wars in a small, intimate venue in Seattle.  I don't think I took a breath the entire show.

Here's a little icing on our cake.  Via Twitter, we congratulated Joy on her pregnancy and asked how she was feeling--and she was sweet enough to respond!

Love, love, LOVE.

Taylor Swift and The Civil Wars Release ‘Safe and Sound’ for ‘The Hunger Games’ Soundtrack

The Civil Wars (Joy Williams and John Paul White)

If nothing else, Taylor ("WHAT? WHAT? NO WAAAY!  ME??" -- as she feigns every single time she wins at every single awards ceremony!) Swift, will bring the amazing Southern Gothic duo The Civil Wars even more to the forefront to the masses.

The song could have used more John Paul. I do give Taylor props for loving and promoting The Civil Wars, though.  Pretty soon they won't need anyone to give shout-outs, but I still will.
