Fall has a very fickle relationship with Florida. It can happen but you definitely don't want to depend on it. So living here in the Sunshine State, I have to look for things other than the weather to let me know the seasons are changing. With the arrival of pumpkin spiced everything and Oscar-bait movies, I know lots of folks are pulling out sweaters.

The picture at the top of my Must See Chart is Paul Thomas Anderson's The Master. Depending on who you ask, this film starring Philip Seymour Hoffman and Joaquin Phoenix, is the origin story of Scientology or HAS ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY, NOTHING TO DO WITH L. RON HUBBARD. Hmm, I guess I'll have to wait and see it myself to decide. Let's hope all the minions in Clearwater stay safe after it is in wide release. In the meantime, let's take (another?) look at the official trailer!
Variety has an article detailing Miramax's dedication to having The Master shown with the currently rare 70mm technology. Living with someone who can give the pros and cons of CinemaScope, I know that for a certain class of movie
obsessive goer this is a very major thing. I'm not one of them. Give me Hoffman acting up a storm and Phoenix setting things ablaze with his eyes in any format, and I'm good.
Until The Master comes to my neck of the woods, I'll have to get my Hoffman fix by watching Before The Devil Knows You're Dead.
What upcoming releases are exciting you?
