The Civil Wars Took Home Two Grammy Awards BTW!
The Civil Wars!!
With all the sad news about Whitney Houston's passing looming over The Grammy Awards, I almost forgot to give a huge shout out and congratulations to Dipped in Cream's darlings, The Civil Wars for winning Best Folk album and Best Country Duo/Group performance--beating out the likes of Eddie Vedder and Kenny Chesney.
Joy Williams and John Paul White, who make up The Civil Wars are a duo made in heaven. Normally, I don't care for Jay Leno, but if I hadn't accidentally turned on The Tonight Show in early 2011, I never would have found these two beautiful souls. It seems as though they are on Leno every few months.
Since that time, my BFF Patrick, SilverFox and I were lucky enough to see The Civil Wars in a small, intimate venue in Seattle. I don't think I took a breath the entire show.
Here's a little icing on our cake. Via Twitter, we congratulated Joy on her pregnancy and asked how she was feeling--and she was sweet enough to respond!
