True Blood Recap, “Spellbound”

Well, let's get to it.

For me, Jessica is the only vampire I can sympathize it, which is why I find her predicament to be so sad. Saved from burning to a crisp by Jason, she realizes her true feelings for him and dreams about killing Hoyt as the only means to breaking up with him. For a minute I thought she actually had ripped his throat from his body, and that Hoyt would cry over her leaving him. The sad reality was that he took it much harder, kicking her out of the house and even worse, admitting that his mother was right about her. Jessica tries to find comfort in Jason, but he he wants nothing to do with her--even if he really does care about her.

Again, I mostly skipped over Eric and Sookie playing couple, not even Alexander's bare butt could make me care about them. They did have sex in some fairy dreamland though. So there was that. Eric suggests they run away together, but Sookie reminds him that he's a warrior and that they should stay and help Bill fight the witches. As King, Bill tries to smooth things over with the public as only one vamp, who happens to have been Maxine's neighbor, actually dies in the sunlight. With Marnie and Tara watching this unfold on TV at the MoonGoddess Emporium, Bill calls to ask for a truce.
At midnight in the cemetery, the two groups meet but Sookie hears that Marnie is casting a spell in her mind and they all attack each other. After she kills one vamp, Tara is attacked by Pam but Bill forbids her from ever hurting Tara. When she asks why he saved her, Bill says that she knows why, and you know what, eff this! Bill let her get raped when she was kidnapped by Franklin, he isn't really doing this for her, it's more for Sookie. Once again, Tara was saved by a man. Bill is silvered, and Sookie is shot. Marnie puts Eric under a spell, and Alcide comes to carry Sookie's limp body out of the chaos, with a pissed off Debbie looking on.
Just earlier at their pack meeting, Debbie tells Alcide that she made some new friends and actually felt like she belonged. She also tells him, again, that she doesn't like him worrying about Sookie. I wouldn't be surprised if Debbie starts hooking up with pack leader Marcus, who kind of has it in for Sam. Turns out, Luna's ex husband is Marcus, and he doesn't like that Sam has been playing Barbie's with his daughter. I'm much more interested in the werewolf/shifter showdown that could happen. Abandoned by Sam, Tommy skinwalks as Maxine to collect the money for her natural gas. Poor Tommy, having to be stuck in that body with all that trashy makeup.

At Merlotte's, Lafayette sees the fabulous black lady ghost again, Mavis, singing to baby Mikey. Later, he has a dream about her fighting with her lover Virgil after he killed their child. When Lafayette wakes up, she enters his body and goes to the Bellefleur mansion to steal Andy's gun and kidnap baby Mikey.
So Sookie may be dead, Lafayette could go to jail for kidnapping, and I sense Sam and Alcide could become friends in the near future. Thank you for being interesting again, True Blood!
