Whitney Houston – Will Leaves Everything to Bobbi Kristina

Whitney and "Krissy"

Why are people shocked and even outraged by the announcement that Whitney Houston's Last Will and Testament leaves all of her assets to her daughter, Bobbi Kristina?  That's how it's DONE, people.  Whitney wasn't married to anyone--namely Bobbi Kristina's father, singer Bobby Brown, and as such, any and all of Whitney's estate should go to her surviving children.  As we know, Bobbi Kristina is Whitney's only child.

Houston, who died unexpectedly last month, signed the document in February 1993, one month before she and then-husband Bobby Brown welcomed Bobbi Kristina.

The will, which was amended in 2000, notes that all of Houston’s clothing, jewelery, furniture, personal items, and cars are to go to her surviving children.

Houston’s money will also be put into a trust for Bobbi Kristina, with the 19-year-old gaining part of it at ages 21 and 25, before getting the full amount when she turns 30.

While Houston’s mother Cissy is the will’s executor, her brother Gary and sister-in-law Patricia are the trustees.

It appears Whitney had all of her ducks in a row where her assets were concerned.  She and Bobby Brown also had an airtight pre-nuptial agreement that secured her own assets, and left Bobby to his own devices, if you will.

"Brown agrees that Houston shall have no legal obligation to support him, and that he shall have no right to require the payment of any alimony, support (including temporary support), or other maintenance, and no right to receive any rights, interests, or claims to Houston's property, and Brown hereby waives releases, and forever renounces any and all such rights to the fullest extent permitted by law."

In layman's terms, "what's mine is MINE, and what's yours is YOURS! Smell ya later, and don't ask me for spousal support!".  (Even though Bobby did, on occasion, try to ask for spousal support from his ex-wife. Psssh.)

Let me ask you this: Would you leave anything to your ex-spouse in your Will?  These folks who think Whitney should have puzzle me. Doesn't add up.
